The video-game industry will face some stiff competition in court later this year, but a law school decided it couldn't wait to see how lawyers will misrepresent and overgeneralize the medium.
News Blips:
The justices in a mock Supreme Court trial of Schwarzenegger v. Entertainment Merchants Association held at William and Mary Law School vote in favor of the former action star turned governor six to three. The participants in the fake trial, which concerns outlawing the sale of mature-rated video games to minors, only discussed a single video game: Postal. A source told GamePolitics he viewed the trial and indicated he knew more about the ESRB than the participants, most of which are political experts. It's interesting how a court case about video games so closely resembles the trials in the Ace Attorney games: ridiculous and devoid of any practical logic.

It's hard to believe companies are still making "mistakes" like these. My theory is they're just too lazy to type up a press release.

Gilbert said the title he's working on is one he's been contemplating for years. "Fans of those old adventure games will like it," he said. Please be Maniac Mansion 2! Please be Maniac Mansion 2!
