Link Gets Wordy: Legend of Zelda Children’s Book

Link’s so popular in video games that it’s easy to overlook certain aspects of his backstory. (We’re looking at you, Philips CD-i’s Zelda: Wand of Gamelon!)

The Legend of Zelda: Molblin’s Magic Spear is not nearly as hideous as the aforementioned CD-i game, which looks like it was drawn by preschoolers. Molblin’s Magic Spear’s actually a children’s book officially published by Nintendo in 1989.

And you can now read along to this little-known adventure that takes place during the original The Legend of Zelda. Or if reading’s too much for you (it is for us — ugh!), you can simply listen to Winter11 narrate it [via Multiple:Option]:

Phew! Good thing Link saved Zelda in the end. We were seriously about to call 911 for a second. Wait, is 911 even available in Hyrule? If not, Zelda’s so screwed when Link eventually gets busted for his illegal potion stash.
