Commenting on Bitmob (Everyone Please Read)

Yesterday Frank Anderson brought up a good question from his Harry Potter story.  I will quote him below, but really it is surprising to see so few comments on great articles.  For me I know I am not a good writer, but when I get proud to see I reached 40 views.  So with the writers like Brian Shirk, Jasmine Maleficent Rea & others why don’t you comment on there stories if you like them?  So I am going to put some examples out that may or may not be reasons why.

Quote from Frank Anderson:  "Over 500 views, yet not a single comment? Why is this review so popular, and why are none of its readers reading my other posts, commenting or going to my website?
Is this just a fluke because of the popularity of the movie…?
I really don’t know how to take the reception to this post.
Does it mean that this review sucks, it great, or is just on a good subject. I am 100% flummoxed. "

One of the things I think for no comments may be due to the fact you have not registered to Bitmob.  If you have not registered then why not leave a comment as a gueast which still gives you privacy?  Does showing your real name for once make you stop as you can’t edit your comment once it has been submitted?  Even something little as a job well done goes a long way to someone.  Maybe hiding behind a screen name brings out the best and worst in us, but once your real name is use you have to be careful when you post.  This is all speculation right now though.

Another factor I may have is another site linking to your blog.  We all have heard Andrew Hiscock gets pinged by other sites.  So could it be that people click on the link to his blog and just read and leave?  Possible that outsiders who do not frequent this site just don’t care enough for the author, but enjoy his work to talk about his piece.

My last theory is that in the past two and a half months I have seen more comments for Contests then any other blog out there.   Do we really just want to comment on swag & prizes?  However I do know a few of us will engage an author about there work.  So it may be even though many people read all the articles maybe in the end nothing needs to be said.

These are my thoughts on this subject.  They me be true or false so please prove to me which way they lay.  This is a good site and just think even though you use your real name.  Leave a small comment after reading it.  We are all BitMobbers.  So let the discussion begin.
