Single this Valentine’s Day? Maybe you should try a little in-game flirting in Words With Friends. It seems to work for some people.
Social gaming company Zynga surveyed over six thousand players out of its 72 million active users of the With Friends franchise for its second annual Valentine’s Day poll. Zynga was clear about the poll being “un-scientific” and “in-game.”
Here’s a breakdown:
- One out of 10 of players have initiated a game with someone they are attracted to just to start a conversation.
- Thirty percent of players said they use in-game chat features to flirt with their opponent.
- Nearly 25 percent of those surveyed try to impress the person they were attracted to by using higher-scoring words.
- More than 50 percent are more attracted to players with a higher vocabulary.
- Twenty-six percent of married players play with their spouse.
- Almost one in four players are more competitive when up against someone they have feelings for.
