Nintendo’s charming social simulator Animal Crossing finally gets its 3DS North American subtitle.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf is the latest game in the franchise where players pay bills, make friends, and catch bugs in a small town filled with anthropomorphic animals and set on a real-time clock. New Leaf is due out Nov. 8 in Japan and early 2013 in the States.
The 3DS version differs slightly from its predecessors by placing players in the role of town mayor. That means in addition to deciding on house decorations and fashion, players can also adjust in-game business hours to better match the time of day they actually play the game.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime also mentioned in a special webcast that players will finally be able to choose their own socks. So … progress.
Also, I hope this means, as mayor, I can finally put some leverage on that shady Tom Nook. I will Blagojevich him so hard if he messes with me.
