When we say GamesBeat is a community, this is what we mean. I’m happy to introduce the 26 members of our GamesBeat event advisory board.
We have a close connection to people who make a living in the games industry and we seek their help in recruiting speakers for our events we host for the industry. We’re doing something like nine events a year now, not including dinners, and we’re always looking for speakers, event theme advice, topics to cover and more. We’re very grateful to have them on board.
GamesBeat Next is coming up on Nov. 2–3 in San Francisco, and Early Bird pricing ends Monday, 9/21. If you’re planning to join us, make sure you secure your pass now before prices go up. [Register for GamesBeat Next →]
One way we surface people is through our connection to the community, and that’s what our advisory board helps us with. They can pitch us stories all of the time, but they also suggest speakers for our events like GamesBeat Next (Nov. 2-3 in San Francisco), GamesBeat Insider: Hollywood & Games (December 10 in downtown LA at the Grammy Museum) and GamesBeat Summit (May 17-18 in Marina del Rey in Los Angeles).
We’re grateful for their insider knowledge and their own big networks. They’re our ambassadors to the community, and they are active with GB MAX network we’ve created for the industry, creating connections and opportunities. Once we get pitches, we evaluate them and then decide who to recruit as speakers and what they will talk about.
Some of the folks on this list are new and many are veterans from years of service. We rotate our advisers every now and then and embrace the concept of diversity in recruiting them so they can help us bring perspectives from almost every facet of the game industry.
