TinyBuild unveiled a deep dive video of Kingmakers gameplay that showed the game is much more ambitious than originally shown.
In this game, a lone soldier from the age of guns goes back in time to try to change the fate of the world. Only he doesn’t fight fair, as he takes his modern weapons back in time to use on medieval armies. In the past trailers, there was no storyline. But in this case, the soldier explains his mission to a woman who is the daughter of an important king in medieval England.

His aim is to save the human race from extinction by cutting off one of the branches of history — and it sounds like that branch fights back, as an evil force that tries to eliminate the right branches of history. And so there’s more a narrative to this game than revealed before. I take it is it going down an original path, even if it takes the basic plot of Mark Twain’s novel, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. You can wishlist it on Steam.
The title from game developer Redemption Road Games doesn’t have a a launch date yet. It clearly has a bigger budget behind it than in the past, when its first version was crafted in its first five years by two brothers, Ian Fisch and Paul Fisch. TinyBuild discovered it and backed it with more staff and money.
What’s very interesting is that the game is built with a custom version of Unreal Engine 4. It looks pretty realistic and yet it can get hundreds or thousands of soldiers in a scene.

Over time, you can see how the soldier rises from commanding a small group of peasants to overseeing more of an army of medieval soldiers. He helps turn the tide of battle by fighting ont the ground with his guns, never seeming to run out of ammo as enemy formations come at him.
TinyBuild, the 15-year-old game publisher behind titles like Hello Neighbor, unveiled the latest details of the game in its latest installment of TinyBuild Connect today. I’m getting to it a little late, but it’s hard not to notice the splash that Kingmakers is making on social media with its 10-minute gameplay video.
Since you can’t take out your target right away, your job is to go back in time and build up your own castle and army. You gather resources like in a strategy game, expanding your territory. You can create your own buildings from an overhead view, and then fight hand-to-hand in the shadows of those buildings.
You can also capture gold and other precious items and send them back in time to the modern era so that your friends can send you increasingly more powerful weapons, like shotguns, machine guns, bazookas, motorcycles, cars and even tanks.

In addition to Kingmakers, TinyBuild also showed The Lift, Graveyard Keeper 2, Hozy, Of Ash & Steel and SAND: Raiders of Sophi. And in addition to Hello Neighbor, the company’s big hits include ReStory, Potion Craft, and The King is Watching.
