Independent developer Torn Banner Studios and Green Man Gaming have announced that co-op zombie survival title No More Room in Hell 2 has officially surpassed 1 million total players, doubling its active player base in just one week since the title’s global 1.0 release across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

After two years in Early Access, the 8-player permadeath action horror has doubled its total player base by bringing in 500,000 survivors with its 1.0 launch and console debut.

Driven by performance overhauls and community-focused development, player sentiment surged from mixed in Early Access to peaking at 90% in positive reviews across PC and console, alongside a massive PC player revival in the title’s 1-week launch window.

“When we first launched into Early Access, we knew we had work to do – but we refused to give up on the vision or our community,” says Steve Piggott, CEO and creative director at Torn Banner Studios, in a press release. “As an independent studio, seeing No More Room In Hell 2 cross one million players is a dream outcome for 1.0, and is a testament to the grit of our development team and the loyalty of our community. Thank you to every player who has stepped into our lobbies and helped shape this game side-by-side with our team.”

No More Room In Hell 2 has continued to see chart success, outranking new AAA releases and major franchises including Madden, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel titles in its first week of launch to reach a highest of #4 in top-selling games on Steam in the United States.

“By bringing No More Room in Hell 2 to consoles with full crossplay for 1.0, we have tapped into a massive, underserved community that has been ready for real survival horror,” says Chris Jones, EVP of publishing at Green Man Gaming, in the same press release. “The game’s success proves just how hungry a global, multi-platform audience has been for this level of intense tactical gameplay, and we’re proud to help deliver this experience to players across consoles.”

No More Room In Hell 2’s 1.0 launch delivers a 8-player co-op experience where high-stakes permadeath ensures every encounter with the undead is a fight for survival, and every victory is another step back from the brink of apocalypse. With full cross-play available across PC and console, 1.0 adds new maps and game modes.
