Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics is a single-player tactical turn-based solo game set in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six universe.

Ubisoft made the announcement of the 2027 game at the Opening Night Live event at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

In the promo for the game, Ubisoft said a decision has been made to rebuild the Rainbow Six unit and appoint you as the new commander. Your mission is to recruit and lead the elite Rainbow Six operators through high-risk missions across the globe to uncover and thwart an unprecedented conspiracy.

In the trailer, there’s a mix of cinematic close combat scenes as well as a top-down turn-based tactical game. You lead a squad of operators (among 15 avaialble) to carry out special operations.

You recruit operators and lead them in intense tactical combat, using fully destructible environments to your advantage. And you can orchestrate flawless synchronized Breaches: plan every move, synchronize your operators, and strike as one to outsmart your enemies.
Between missions, manage your HQ and develop its special departments to access new gear, train your operators, and advance your investigation.

You lead the Rainbow Six squad across more than 50 missions across the globe from ancient ruins in Egypt to high-security prisons in Denmark and more.

Between missions, you manage your operators’ health, customize their loadouts, and upgrade their skill trees to unlock new perks and tailor their gameplay to your evolving strategy.

You also take part in tense, turn-based tactical battles to rescue hostages, defuse bombs, or eliminate high-value targets, requiring you to constantly adapt your approach and make the most of your squad’s abilities.

You can take full advantage of your recon drones & tools to analyze the battlefield, win the information warfare and adopt the right approach for each mission. Leverage a fully destructible environment to gain the upper hand. Create new paths, open unexpected lines of sight, or destroy enemy cover to expose your targets.
