Charm Games, the award-winning indie studio behind FORM and Twilight Path, today announced its new title, The Orphaned House, coming to Steam, Xbox Series X | S, and PlayStation 5.
An atmospheric first-person adventure, The Orphaned House places players inside a house that is far more than it appears, where environmental storytelling and intricate puzzles replace combat and dialogue. Move through each room, examine each object, and solve the puzzles to slowly reveal the truth.
You awake in a house with no memory, but the compelling urge to find answers — answers The Orphaned House hides. Curiosity and smarts are key to unravelling the mysteries within its walls. But is everything truly as it seems? Be intrepid, dig deep, and witness the cascading impact of your visit as the House responds to your presence and actions
The puzzles are woven into the environment and serve the story, and according to the press release, “are satisfyingly tactile and intuitive.” They are part of how we tell the story of The Orphaned House, and how they connect to the story is for you to figure out.
“Everything we learned crafting deeply tactile, immersive experiences goes into this game. The interaction, the atmosphere, the details that do the storytelling. Bringing that to PC and console feels like the moment we have been building toward,” said Alan Jernigan, studio director at Charm Games, in a press release.
A playable demo is planned for later this year, giving players their first hands-on look inside the house, giving players a look ahead of the game’s 2027 release.
