Eunice Lee thinks games can bring people together in a way that is more essential than ever.

Lee, who began her career with an internship at Activision, currently serves as the chief operating officer of Scopely, where she was the steward of the company’s acquisition of Niantic’s games library, which includes hit games Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now and Pikmin Bloom. She was also the winner of GamesBeat’s inaugural BOSS Mode Woman of the Year Award. At GamesBeat Summit 2026, she and I sat down to speak for an episode of GamesBeat’s podcast, The BIG Show.

During our 20 minute-long conversation, Lee and I discussed her history with the games industry, both as a player and as a professional (and we were accompanied by — as GB MAX members will see — my pal Vaporeon). We discussed the expansion of Scopely and its future, as well as Lee’s future visions for the industry.

“I think we’ve always believed deeply in live services and always having content for our players and our communities, but I think there’s something that goes deeper than that, and it’s creating these experiences for the communities,” said Lee. “I think we need more connection through games, more than ever. I feel like we’re on the forefront of that, and I’m excited about that.”
