GamesBeat’s The BIG Show is returning for Season 2, bringing together developers, executives and industry leaders for conversations about the forces shaping the future of interactive entertainment.

The BIG Show — which stands for Business, Innovation and Gaming — first launched in 2025, with a wave of episodes recorded at GamesBeat’s industry events throughout the end of the year. The second full season of the podcast will expand on the tone set by the first season and earlier episodes, inviting CEOs, founders and other industry innovators into a relaxed, after-hours setting. The goal is to reveal how the leaders building the future of interactive entertainment actually think and feel.

Episodes of The BIG Show dive into the interactive economy and gaming’s influence on different sectors, from Hollywood, finance to tech, sports, retail, AI, and beyond. Season 2 premieres July 6, and the trailer is available to view now.

A selection of voices defining what’s next

Among them is Jenova Chen, the founder and creative director of thatgamecompany, whose titles including Journey, Flower and Sky: Children of the Light have helped redefine how games can create emotional connections with players. Chen’s work has pushed the boundaries of interactive storytelling and demonstrated the artistic potential of games as a medium.

The season also features Eunice Lee, chief operating officer of Scopely, one of the world’s leading mobile game companies. Lee has helped guide Scopely’s continued growth across its portfolio of global franchises and was recognized as GamesBeat’s BOSS Mode Woman of the Year for her leadership and impact on the games industry.

Joining these voices is Owen Mahoney, the former CEO of Nexon, one of Asia’s largest game publishers. During his tenure, Mahoney helped guide Nexon through a period of global expansion and strategic transformation, bringing decades of experience across game publishing, technology and corporate leadership.

Another featured conversation includes Dmitri Johnson, co-founder and CEO of Story Kitchen, and Amanda Kruse, head of games at Blumhouse. Together, they explore the evolving relationship between games and Hollywood, including how entertainment companies are approaching interactive storytelling and the opportunities for games to expand into new forms of media.

The season will also include sponsored episodes featuring David Lee of Webtoon and Jude Ower of Good Games Club. These conversations will explore additional perspectives on the future of storytelling, communities and the changing ways audiences engage with interactive entertainment.

Together, these leaders represent a cross-section of creators, executives and industry builders shaping the next chapter of games, from the future of game development and publishing to the expanding role of interactive entertainment across global media.

A different kind of business conversation

The BIG Show is designed to offer a different kind of industry conversation, one that moves beyond the structure of a traditional conference panel. The format was built around a simple idea: some of the most revealing discussions happen after the scheduled agenda ends, when leaders can speak candidly about the decisions, challenges and opportunities shaping their industries.

Each episode concludes with The CEO Cheat Sheet, a segment where guests distill the conversation into three key lessons from their careers and areas of expertise. The goal is to capture the strategic thinking behind some of the biggest decisions in gaming, media, technology and business.

The BIG Show is part of GamesBeat’s broader expansion into executive-focused storytelling, creating a space for deeper conversations with the creators, investors and leaders influencing the future of games and interactive entertainment.
