Remedy Entertainment officially revealed the sequel to Control at The Game Awards 2025, called Control Resonant. The new title follows Dylan Faden, the brother of previous game’s protagonist Jesse Faden, as he battles in a cosmically warped version of New York. The game is presently in development with plans for a 2026 launch.

Remedy has been working on the game for quite some time, giving updates on production in its regular financial reports. They teased Dylan’s turn as a playable character in parts of the original title, implying his powers might equal those of his sister, who will also make an appearance in Resonant.

Resonant will take place in Manhattan, as the Oldest House can no longer contain all of the reality-warping threats. Dylan must also contend with his own tortured psyche in order to tap into the power of his own weapon, called the Aberrant.

Mikael Kasurinen, the game’s creative director, said in a statement, “Control Resonant pushes our paranatural action RPG series into an expansive, reality-warping playground of choice, power, and consequence. You don’t have to know the first game to jump into the sequel, we’ve made this one easy to pick up and hard to put down. We’re pushing the scale beyond anything we’ve done before, elevating combat, exploration, and storytelling into a bigger, more memorable experience. It’s ambitious, a little wild, and we can’t wait for players to get lost in it.”
