Pocketpair is expanding its hit monster-catching game, Palworld, in two very different directions. Today, the Tokyo-based developer revealed Palworld: Palfarm, a cozy farming simulation spin-off, while also announcing a crossover between Palworld and the cult-favorite retro FPS ULTRAKILL.

Palfarm reimagines the Palworld formula as a laid-back life simulator. Players move to a tranquil island where they can grow crops, cook, craft, and build alongside the game’s trademark creatures known as Pals. Each Pal contributes to farm life with unique abilities, such as sowing seeds, watering, or harvesting. Beyond chores, players can form deeper relationships with both villagers and Pals through conversations and gifts, unlocking special storylines.

The spin-off isn’t entirely without tension: hostile Pals may attack, requiring players to defend their farm. A market system will also allow trading crops and crafted goods, sometimes yielding rare items. Multiplayer support ensures friends can share the farming experience together. Pocketpair hasn’t announced a release date yet, but the company promises more updates soon.

By branching into the farming sim space, Palfarm taps into a genre that has surged in popularity with hits like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Fae Farm. Combining this format with Palworld’s creature-driven mechanics could give Pocketpair another mainstream success.

On the other end of the spectrum, Pocketpair is bringing the violent chaos of ULTRAKILL into Palworld. Weapons and gear from Arsi “Hakita” Patala’s critically acclaimed retro shooter will appear in the Palpagos Islands, letting players mix stylish, over-the-top action with their Pal companionship. The crossover promises a chaotic clash between two seemingly incompatible tones: “a slow life with Pals” meets “slaughter in Hell.”

Originally launched as just a monster-catching open-world survival crafting game in early access in 2024, Palworld has continued to expand throughout 2025 and maintained breakout status thanks to its mix of exploration, building, combat, and cooperative elements. Now, by adding Palfarm to its portfolio, Pocketpair is building Palworld into a more flexible IP capable of spanning multiple genres. Meanwhile, high-profile collaborations like ULTRAKILL show the studio’s willingness to embrace playful experimentation to keep its community engaged.

Pocketpair is signaling that Palworld isn’t just a one-off hit but could become the foundation of a growing universe.
