Polyarc revealed during today’s VR Games Showcase that it plans to launch the premium version of its game Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss, later this year. Specifically, it’s launching the game on Meta Quest and Steam sometime during the holiday season. The development team also plans to expand its community support programs, including the Polyarc Creator and Glassbreakers Mentorship programs.

Glassbreakers is an RTS action-battler, in which players pick three Champions from a roster of 12 options, each with their own abilities. Each game is a PvP battle, complicated by randomized objectives on each map. The developer originally launched Glassbreakers in early access and beta periods, and has since expanded the game’s content. For its holiday launch, Polyarc plans to include 4 maps, a “Buds Mode” that allows players to pair up their teams in 2v2, 2v1 and 2vAI battles.

Polyarc’s previous titles include Moss and Moss: Book II, other VR titles, and the company raised $9 million in 2020 to expand its VR and AR abilities. The studio wants to continue to maintain its Glassbreakers Discord to support the growing community of VR players, as well as hosting monthly Town Hall meetings and supporting the aforementioned programs.

Chris Bourassa, Polyarc’s lead designer, said of the game in the statement, “When we tried VR more than 10 years ago, we imagined the sense of immersion and connection you could have with friends and characters would bring an added level of excitement and joy to the types of games we loved. And with a team passionate for competitive games, Glassbreakers was the first prototype we pulled together. I mean, who wouldn’t want to bring to life their childhood action figure toys in a real-time battle set in an immersive fantasy world?!”
