The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is now accepting applications for full voting membership from creative gaming professionals in the U.S.
The group is offering membership applications to qualified professionals to become part of a vibrant community of creative people. This opportunity allows experienced individuals to play an active role in shaping the future of film, games, and television through participation in BAFTA’s renowned awards and year-round initiatives. GamesBeat is happy to support this news as a service for the game community.
BAFTA is strengthening its presence in the North American games community following a month of appearances at Games for Change in New York and Unreal Fest in Orlando, as well as the formation of a new BAFTA Games North America Committee.
Julia Bianco Schoeffling serves as chair of the new North America Games Committee, which includes Dmitri Johnson, Arne Meyer, Kate Edwards, Jay-Ann Lopez, Sam Barlow, Darion Lowenstein, Carmen Askerneese, and Arjun Yadav, with more to be announced. The committee will steer industry events, member engagement, and sponsorship strategy.
“Our recent outreach and expanded calendar of events is creating more avenues for North American talent to connect with the global BAFTA community and foster cross sector collaboration in Film Games and Television.” said Joyce Pierpoline, chair of the BAFTA North America Board, in a statement.
The BAFTA North America Professional membership lets members connect with a global network of film, games and TV professionals all from the home base in North America.
Full Voting Membership offers professionals the chance to recognize exceptional storytelling and support emerging talent across the screen industries.
