Didimo and P-Labs partner to simplify in-game NPC generation

Didimo, the company behind game character creation solutions, announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with P-Labs. Together, the two have created a scalable workflow for game companies to quickly create large and artistically consistent groups of characters, combining P-Labs’ 3D artwork AI and Didimo’s Popul8 creation engine.

According to the companies, this new workflow allows game developers to move from 2D art to in-game character generation with relatively few steps. Devs can upload concept art of characters and generate 3D models, which can then be fed to Popul8 to create artistically consistent crowds of fully rigged, diverse NPCs.

Erez Tsur, P-Labs CEO, said in a statement, “Studios shouldn’t have to choose between speed and quality. This partnership lets teams overcome the asset bottleneck without compromising creativity or scalability. It also brings shorter production timelines, faster iteration, and more personalized assets at scale. For players, it opens the door to greater variety and more inclusive representation in virtual worlds.”

Verónica Orvalho, Didimo’s founder and CEO, added, “At Didimo, we’ve always believed in empowering creators with tools that remove friction from digital production. With Popul8, we’re enabling a new kind of workflow- faster, scalable, and accessible to more studios. It’s a step forward for real-time character creation and for the future of building virtual worlds.”
