Toei and Nestopi launch Steam demo for Re:Ver Project Tokyo

Toei Animation revealed this week that it is working on a new game with developer Nestopi: A “survival suspense adventure game” called Re:Ver Project -Tokyo-. According to Toei, the game is about surviving in a modern city — Tokyo, as the title suggests. A demo, which was previously exclusive to Japanese gaming events, is now available globally via Steam. The game is projected to launch in Winter 2025 on PC.

The game follows a salaryman named Yukinori, who is caught up in a crime alongside a young idol named Hinagi. In order to clear his name, he must hunt for clues to clear his name at iconic Tokyo locations (recreated in pixel art form) and protect Hinagi from threats. He must also survive in the metropolis, avoiding detection by the police and surveillance, collecting food, and crafting items necessary for survival.

Re:Ver Project -Tokyo- is the latest game in Toei’s library, with the company having recently dabbled in Roblox-based games. Nestopi is an indie game developer founded in 2017, which also has a demo out for its other upcoming game Chill with You: Lo-Fi Story. The two entities originally revealed Re:Ver last year.
