Microsoft buys live game operations startup PlayFab, will integrate into Azure

Microsoft has acquired PlayFab, a startup which accelerates game development by handling live operations and other tasks so developers can concentrate on making their games.

PlayFab runs backend services for 1,200 cloud-connected games with more than 700 million players, and now Microsoft will integrate PlayFab’s tools into its Azure cloud service.
