Rockstar Games revealed on Twitter that Red Dead Redemption 2 news is coming at 8 a.m. Pacific on September 28. Normally, an announcement about an announcement is pretty boring, but Rockstar is one of the biggest developers in the world. And Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2018.
The developer had planned to release the open-world cowboy adventure on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year, but Rockstar delayed it into 2018. Since then, we haven’t heard much about the sequel. The first Red Dead Redemption debuted in 2010 and was a big hit on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It sold over 14 million copies.

We can only guess at what Rockstar will be announcing on September 28. Maybe we’re getting a new release date. Perhaps we’ll get our first look at the game’s online mode. Maybe Rockstar will announce a PC version … or even a port for the Switch. Other publishers, like Bethesda, have begun throwing support at Nintendo’s new system now that it’s proven to be a hit less than a year after the hybrid home-portable console’s launch.
Despite Red Dead Redemption 2’s delay, Rockstar has still been having a great 2017 … thanks to a game it released in 2013. Grand Theft Auto V was the no. 2 best-selling game in the U.S. in August, according to The NPD Group. Constant updates to its successful online mode have helped keep the open-world game relevant.
