Nintendo announced Kirby: Battle Royale for the 3DS today during its Direct event. It will come out on January 19.
Battle Royale will feature four-player fights and a single-player story mode. It differs from Kirby Fighters Deluxe, also for 3DS, which was a 2D fighting game. Battle Royale instead uses a top-down camera.
The first Kirby game came out for the Game Boy in 1992. Kirby has gone on to be one of Nintendo’s most popular franchises.
Another new Kirby game, so far just called Kirby, is coming out for the Switch later in 2018. It will be a traditional 2D platformer.
