Jaunt partners with ESL to create VR documentaries for esports

Jaunt, a maker of 360-degree virtual reality videos, has entered into an exclusive, multi-year partnership with the ESL esports league.

The goal is to marry the cutting-edge technology of virtual reality and the rapid-growth of a new sports league to engage fans with their favorite esports teams like never before.

Today, fans can view the first-ever VR esports documentary, “CLG: Win Everythin’” via the Jaunt app. The 30-for-30 style piece follows the Los Angeles-based team’s emotional journey to the 2016 Intel Extreme Masters World tournament and takes fans into the team’s daily routines, exemplifying the passion and dedication required for this team of elite esports athletes as they prepare for competition at the highest level.

As part of its multi-year partnership with ESL, Jaunt will capture and develop several immersive VR documentaries and experiences for all Intel Extreme Masters tournaments, beginning with IEM Shanghai, this July 28-31. The series is aimed at bringing an entirely new level of engagement to esports fans who want to experience up close and personal action of far-away tournaments.
