With Supercell, China’s Tencent will command 13% of $99 billion game business

With the acquisition of most of Supercell, China’s Tencent will have an estimated 13 percent of the global $99 billion game business in 2016, according to market researcher Newzoo.

Tencent, which also has a large social media business, is already the largest game company in revenues. Today it acquired an 84 percent share in Supercell for $8.6 billion. Supercell, which has around 190 employees, has four top-earning mobile games and is the highest-earning mobile game company, according to Newzoo.
