Capcom is making a frantic team-based online shooter based on its popular Resident Evil horror franchise.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps is heading to PlayStation 4 and PC next year. It’s a third-person team-based shooter set in the Resident Evil universe, and it’s a long way from the series’ survival-horror roots. Umbrella Corps’ first frenetic gameplay trailer — revealed at the Tokyo Game Show — shows a bunch of zombie-related weapons and the unusual deployment of a zombie as a shield.

Capcom says that Umbrella Corps is all about quick, intense matches in small battle zones based on historic Resident Evil environments. Teams of mercenaries will battle it out using a range of traditional weapons along with more unusual gear, such as the Brainer melee axe, terrain spikes for trampling enemies, and a zombie jammer to repel the undead.

Umbrella Corps will feature a range of gameplay modes, including One Life Match. This is a deathmatch with no option to respawn and classic Resident Evil enemies thrown into the mix alongside human opponents.

The title will release digitally in early 2016, priced at $30. Attendees at the Tokyo Game Show can try Umbrella Corps out on the show floor this week.
