You don’t have to break your R2-D2 bank to celebrate Star Wars Day with some great games.
Star Wars is a multimedia giant that has spanned over four decades, with gaming making up a large part of its cultural impact. Thanks to sale prices at the digital store GOG, many of the greatest Star Wars games of all time are incredibly cheap today. Some even cost less than $4, which seems appropriate (May the Fourth be with you). And, to keep that whole four thing going, we decided to showcase just that many. These are the four Star Wars games that you really should be playing today below.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Many fans consider Knights of the Old Republic to be one of the greatest role-playing games of all time, and it often tops list as the best Star Wars game ever made. If you haven’t played it yet, you’re really out of excuses when it costs about as much as a fast-food cheeseburger. Sure, some aspects of this 2003 epic may have aged, but the story and characters remain fantastic. And it’s a great introduction to one of the best settings in Star Wars — The Old Republic, which has spawned comics and books (though these are no longer canon).
Star Wars: Republic Commando

Republic Commando is the best thing to come out of the dreadful prequel era. It stars a group of four Clone Troopers in an exhilarating first-person shooter with tactical elements. Those four commandos are a likable bunch, so much so that it’s a shame they didn’t appear in more games (though they did get an enjoyable series of books).
Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds

We’ve seen a lot of Star Wars strategy games, but Galactic Battlegrounds is my favorite. That’s because it’s basically just Age of Empires II with a Star Wars skin. OK, that might sound lazy, but Age of Empires II is one of the greatest real-time strategy games ever. If you’re going to be clone, you could do a lot worse.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

It’s overabundance of subtitles aside, Jedi Academy is still one of the best games to play if you just want to mess around with Force powers and lightsabers. You make your own character (picking your race, gender, and lightsaber) and then get to duel a variety of enemies with fun abilities like Force Push, Force Lightning, Force Speed, and more. I mean, what other game will let you play as a Rodian jedi with a purple, double-sided lightsaber?
